Emergency aid for typhoon victims

680,000 people were evacuated as a precaution before typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippine archipelago with winds of up to 379 km/h. Now that the storm has passed the terrible extent of the damage can be seen – the infrastructure has collapsed completely, towns have been razed to the ground and some 2.5 million people need help. A rapid response was required to stop contagion and famine from breaking out after the catastrophe. The Margarete Müller-Bull Foundation therefore acted swiftly, contributing to the emergency aid with a donation of €15,000 to Caritas.
