Linking bridge demonstrates solidarity.

At the start of July, a new cycle and pedestrian bridge was opened in Esslingen named the ‘Margarete Müller-Bull Bridge’. This bridge links the east and west town centre areas across the Rossneckar canal and has significantly upgraded both areas on either side of the canal.

The Margarete Müller-Bull Foundation funded the bridge singlehandedly while the town paid for the foundation works. The building project was only able to be completed thanks to this donation.

The bridge could be seen as a goodbye gift because the Elektror headquarters relocated from Esslingen to Ostfildern in 2008 for various rational reasons. The linking bridge is, however, a lasting symbol of the solidarity of the company and its boss with the town of Esslingen. As always, the name of the bridge serves to remind citizens of the impressive personality of the founder.
